Meet Our Owner, Shannon
Voges-Haupt (The Queen Bee)
Worker Bees is owned by Shannon Voges-Haupt. She is married to Jeffrey Haupt who recently retired as the Associate Dean of the School of Architecture, Art, and Design at Mississippi State University. They have 6 kids, #1 is a Chiropractor, #2 is a Creative Art Director, #3 is in med school, #4 is an Information and Accounting Systems Manager, #5 is on soccer scholarship and studying Cyber Security in college, and #6 will be graduating high school in the spring of 2025. They have all worked here, so it is truly a family business.
Shannon has been in the cleaning business in Starkville for 25 years. She started her first cleaning company from scratch and it was voted Starkville’s Best Cleaning Service seven times. She sold that one and thought she would do something else, but apparently she is just destined to own a cleaning company. : ) She established Worker Bees in August of 2015 and ran it out of a home office and a shed by her driveway. Eventually, she rented a location in the basement of a building off of Main St. with 6 ft tall ceilings, no running water, no heat or air, and no bathroom. As the business continued to grow, it became necessary to expand, and in the Fall of 2019, she purchased the building we affectionately call The Hive where we now run our operations from located at 504 Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Drive West.
Worker Bees is primarily a residential cleaning company, but we also handle large commercial janitorial accounts, new construction of all sizes, remodel/renovation cleanings, game-day house services, and move-in/out cleanings. Due to demand, we expanded our services to include window cleaning, pressure washing, car detailing and various other manpower services.
Last year we completed over 3000 jobs and currently employ about 25 full time people. In the summers during our busy season when rental leases turn over, we have hired as many as 150 additional temp workers. Worker Bees has been voted Starkville’s Best Cleaning Service for 7 years in a row. Shannon is very proud of her team and looks forward to continuing to grow and uphold our reputation for professionalism, reliability, and quality service.
